Magnet Info for 2008-2009 School Year

Middle School Magnet Information Session - January 28

Before the middle school visits start, come learn about magnet middle school options, selection processes and feeder patterns specific for your school. Representatives from the WCPSS Magnet Resource office and Growth and Planning will be in attendance with presentations and Q&A opportunities. Sponsored by the Underwood Elementary PTA.

Childcare provided compliments of the YMCA for school-aged children.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, January 22 to Kathy Perkinson (kperk@nc.rr.com, or 832-0776) with your attendance and childcare needs.

On Monday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Underwood Elementary located at 1614 Glenwood Avenue (just north of intersection with Wade Avenue.)


Wiley Elementary will host parent information sessions.

Please call Wiley at 856-7723 to reserve a place. Small parent sessions will begin at 9:30 am on the following dates: Nov 13, Dec 5 & 13, Jan 4, 10, 14, & 22.

Magnet Open House sessions will be held on Jan 29 and Feb 7th. Presentations at 10 am and 1 pm.

For the 2008-2009 School year, magnet applications will be available online starting February 11, 2008. The application period ends February 29, 2008. Please note that magnet applications will only be accepted online. See the WCPSS link for details on the Magnet Application Process and Schedule.

General magnet school information is available at the Parent Information Sessions held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am at the Magnet Resource Center.
